Job Description
The Financial Controller will work across the two UK group companies and develop and lead the finance department. At present, both UK companies, operate with an outsourced accountancy practice with data fed from internal management teams. The firm is now looking to develop a UK finance team to remove the need for external finance consultancies and introduce value adds such as weekly/monthly management reports, analysis and end of month/year financial reports.
The Financial Controller will possess a wide range of accounting experience and is eager to progress their career and work in a fast paced and growing organisation. In return, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director to develop the UK's first in-house finance department. This will include implementation of IT systems and finance platforms, improvement of existing systems/processes, participation in strategy & business model development, forecasting and internal recruitment decisions.
Based in Basildon, the Financial Controller will integrate the two UK businesses to create one financial entity; this transition would be planned and managed by the finance lead. You will report to the UK Managing Director and functionally into group headquarters in the Netherlands
Responsibilities:
- Monthly Management Accounts
- Month End Reports
- Forecasting
- Integration planning and delivery
- Supplier Payments
- Bank reconciliation and cash management
- Credit Control
- Tax Returns (VAT, R&D, Corporation, PAYE/NI, P11d)
- Companies House Paperwork (Shares, Group Structure, Confirmation Statements)
- Forecasting
- Providing Support to Management Team
- Business Support
- Liaise with Group HQ in Netherlands
What we are looking for:
- Entrepreneurial, team focused and keen to grow with the company
- Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience accountant
- SAP experience is advantageous
- Be able to priorities and organise your work to ensure that it is completed within the given time limit
