Job Description
Our client is a global law firm with over 40 partners with offices throughout the UK, is now looking for a Group Financial Accountant. Located in Birmingham and reporting to the Group Financial Controller. The Group Financial Accountant will be responsible for financial accounting and reporting for the entire group of business units.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing financial reports and accounts for a number of entities across the
- group including the consolidation of overseas entities
- Partnership accounting - preparation of year-end accounts for the UK general partnership
- Calculate and prepare partnership profit shares
- Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure correct tax position for individual partners' personal tax and entity taxation
- Collaborate with HR and the Partnership Secretary to support the provision of benefits to individual Partners
- Contribute to overall governance, regulatory and administrative requirements of the firm
- Regulatory and compliance responsibilities;
- Quarterly reporting and analysis
- Manage year-end audit and tax compliance
- Work collaboratively with the Group Finance team members
- Manage and mentor the financial accounting team (which includes the Financial Accountant and Accounts Administrator), undertake appraisals and ensure the ongoing development of the team
You will be:
- A qualified accountant ACA/ACCA
- Degree level educated
- Experienced in tax and/or partnership accounting (desirable)
- Strong with software packages - including MS Excel (e.g. Pivot table, VLookup and charts), Word and other reporting tools
- Experienced in managing and developing a team
