If you are looking for a tax role outside of compliance, a role that is purely advisory and you have experience within either personal or corporate tax then this Tax Advisor - Direct Tax role may be for you. This is a predominantly remote working role. 1 day in the office per week.
The Tax Advisor - Direct Tax offers advice to accountancy firms, business owners and private individuals from the offices in Rugby, across all UK direct taxes, including; IT, CGT, CT, Capital allowances, PAYE and NIC, IR35, IHT, Trusts, Stamp Duty and SDLT, residency and domicile issues and partnerships.
This exciting role is extremely varied and interesting and gives the successful candidate an opportunity to utilise and build on their knowledge base through an extensive training and development programme. The role works around a standard week, with no overtime required, no weekend work, no timesheets, no targets, no business development. Just a good work/life balance.
You may be a Personal Tax Manager, Mixed Tax Manager, Tax Assistant Manager or similar
Responsibilities:
- Handling of a wide range of queries on UK taxation
- Researching queries to provide accurate answers, supported by guidance and law, to a varied client base
- Providing support to and sharing ideas/knowledge with, other members of the team
- Identifying potential consultancy opportunities for the business
- Ensure accuracy in advice and actions taken, in accordance with FCA and other regulations
- Manage own time resources and workload to ensure calls are dealt with promptly
- Accurately record advice given
- Maintaining and developing a broad knowledge UK across direct tax, VAT and more
What we are looking for:
- Possess significant working knowledge of taxation
- Demonstrate practical experience of dealing with, and advising clients
- Have excellent telephone etiquette and general communication skills
- Demonstrate efficient organisational skills
- Ideally hold tax and accountancy qualifications however this is not essential
