An Assistant Client Accounting Manager opportunity within a rapidly expanding national accountancy practice based in Leicester. Great benefits including bonus scheme, hybrid working from home and future progression prospects.

This multi award-winning professional services firm are growing substantially with a few high-profile mergers, in what is an exciting time to join the practice. As they continue to grow both their client base and practice, they seek an Assistant Client Accounting Manager to join their Business Services team, in what already possesses a plethora of high calibre individuals. This requirement is essential in taking ownership of a wide-ranging client base across varying industries and sectors, from SME's through to larger clients with turnover into the (£) millions.

The Assistant Client Accounting Manager is primarily accountable for the planning, control, and reviewing of client's assignments. This involves regularly revising statutory accounts, supporting the production of management accounts as well as being involved with VAT returns. This opportunity requires high levels of attention to detail in the examination and approval of financial accounts, with clear and concise communication methods in both the development of junior's members but also liaising closely with clients, delivering feedback and commercial advice where applicable.

We would love to engage with candidates with a practice background, that are technically robust in the preparation of financial statements and are either fully qualified or exam finalists or QBE. This would be an excellent opening for a progressive individual considering their next steps in their career, with future succession opportunities presenting themselves for a candidate that excels in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, control, and review client work to ensure that the jobs are completed as efficiently and effectively as possible by allocating the resources available
  • Regularly review statutory accounts ensuring they are in line with accounting standards
  • Frequently process management accounts, VAT returns, CIS returns and other ad hoc work performed by Business Services staff
  • Monitor filing deadlines and ensure deadlines are achieved, including corporation tax, Companies House filings
  • Attend meetings with company directors to discuss interim results and give advice on performance
  • Complete on-site visits to clients, acting as a conduit between audit, tax & BSD to ensure efficient procedures
  • Review work completed by juniors, providing technical advice and guidance to ensure knowledge and application are improved to enhance future effectiveness

What we are looking for:

  • Technically strong, ACA/ACCA Qualified or Finalist, candidates that are qualified by experience (QBE) will also be considered
  • Prior experience within an accountancy practice
  • Previous involvement in preparing financial accounts for clients
  • Professional, strong, and confident communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Highly organised, working to agreed deadlines and budgets
  • The ability to self-manage, using initiative in the organisation and delegation of workload
  • Strong computer and numeracy skills such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or Excel
