Job Description

Help shape the future of this leading professional services firm, based in central Birmingham, by providing market insight and a detailed review of financial performance of the group to be used for commercial decision making by the Senior Management team (SMT). As the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager, you will work with the Senior Finance Manager and with key areas of the business, to ensure that the firm has the correct strategies in place. The role is part financial planning and analysis, part finance business partner, delivering complex financial data in a comprehensible form for non finance stakeholders to base future strategies upon.

Responsibilities:

  • Review financial performance across the group
  • Review individual client profitability and understand the factors behind these trends
  • Evaluating client profitability
  • Involvement in the bids and tenders process to ensure competitive pricing
  • Assess current pricing offered to existing clients across the group and review discounts offered, competitor rates, and overall pricing package
  • Market map of current, emerging and future sectors to ensure the firm remains competitive and teams can target potential growth areas
  • Understand the underlying reasons behind financial performance and proactively highlight any areas of concern to the SMT
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager on specific projects as required

What we are looking for:

  • Chartered accountancy qualification (or relevant equivalent experience) and be degree level educated
  • Very strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, inconsistencies, and salient points from large quantities of data
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills - including MS Excel (e.g. Pivot table, VLookup and charts), Word and other reporting tools
  • Excellent communication skills; willingness to listen to others and challenge constructively
  • Organisation, administration and project delivery skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information sensitively
